Parisian handbag label Verbreuil was born of a French family’s passion for art and design. Led by co-founder and creative director Sylvie Véron Hériard-Dubreuil and her daughters Ariane and Sixtine, this haute maroquinerie house was launched in 2014.

Verbeuil’s meticulously hand-crafted collection of high-end leather goods includes handbags, clutches, bracelets, card holders and glasses cases, made with fashionable working women, and more recently men, in mind.

Made in France of the finest leathers in contrasting complimentary colors, no details are spared. Each piece from Verbreuil’s collections is made by one craftsperson, an expert in traditional leatherwork techniques.

Where to go for luxury handbags in Paris

It’s difficult to pick a favorite bag or purse when entering their gallery-like boutique neighboring luxury shopping artery Rue Saint-Honoré. Each handbag is displayed much like a work of art, and that’s exactly what they look and feel like.

One of my most coveted models is the versatile and uber-elegant La Gare which can be worn with or without a strap. Available in three sizes and a range of exotic leathers, each handbag is unique with limited edition variations available by custom order. A close second is the discreetly graceful Tranicq model, worn both as a bag and clutch and available in two sizes.

With working mothers in mind, a chic new bag called Fleurus Cabas was launched in 2018. This new model, big enough for the daily demands of a working mother on the go, was inspired by the busy lives of sisters Ariane and Sixtine. Who knows women’s needs better than working women themselves?

In 2019 Verbreuil decided that it wasn’t only women that needed a practical yet elegant work bag and launched their bespoke men’s collections. How better to look chic as a modern Parisian man en route to an important business meeting than with the Roch H briefcase? Practical both for urban life and for traveling, this multiple-use two-part briefcase fits both a laptop and any daily essentials. One of several ideal man bags!

Aside from the stunning collection of women’s and men’s custom leather products on display at their bijoux boutique, meeting any one of their staff or family members, you can feel the sincerity and warmth of the team behind Verbreuil. This is what makes Sylvie and her daughters stand out in the world of haute maroquinerie. Verbrueil is dedicated not only to the quality of their products but to their customers.

Verbreuil is open Monday–Saturday 11:00 am–7:00 pm.
