Set-up in a former textile workshop right in the heart of the cool Le Sentier area, Bambou welcomes fashionistas and hipsters alike into an exotically decorated, sophisticated space. They made it big: the large dining room, the heated terrace, the garden, the billard room, and the speakeasy-style smoking bar room downstairs cover more than 500 square meters of the former atelier de confection.
Entirely revamped by renowned interior designers, Bambou takes you on a journey to an old colonial house in Siam. As you enter in the main dining room, the black lacquered parquet floor contrasts with the white wooden beams of the high ceiling. Bamboo bird cages and large ceiling fans finish to set the scene. In between courses, be sure to visit the comfy petit salon, the billard room, or the cocktail bar downstairs to complete your trip to this old-style colonial club.
But Bambou isn’t just about the atmosphere. This classy and cozy restaurant serves well-balanced, delicately flavored Thaï cuisine. Antonin Bonnet signs a simple but efficient menu. Steamed dim-sums, fried prawns with spicy lime sauce, or fresh exotic salads to start with, classical pad-thai or curries as a main dish, and keep room for the mango coco sticky rice for dessert!
Just across the street from French fashionista favorite L’Appartement Sézane, this is the perfect place to come after shopping up an appetite.
