This tap house at the top of the Bassin de la Villette is one of the best places in Paris for people-watching and chilling out with a cold drink in your hand.
On a warm day, you can sit outside on the water’s edge and soak up the young, hip ambiance as well as some sun. If the weather isn’t cooperating or the patio is full, the rustic interior has plenty of room for you to sit down and try one of their locally-made craft beers.
Paname was opened by a group of four friends whose dream was to bring a relaxed pub vibe to Paris, including serving great craft beers and simple but delicious pub food at an affordable price. Coming from every corner of the planet — the US, Australia, Ireland, and Italy — the pals have certainly succeeded in making their dream a reality, much to the delight of all in the 19th Arrondissement.
There’s over a dozen great local and imported beers on tap and the laid-back, saloon-like vibe may just have you thinking you’re back home but the views of La Villette will remind you that all of Paris lies at your feet.
