Place Vendôme

This expansive (and expensive) city square is all about luxury.

The shop windows are dripping in gems, as you’ll find boutiques for Rolex, Cartier, and Chopard here, with Dior and more just down the road.

The Ritz Paris is here as well, and even if you’re not staying in the 5-star hotel, it’s worth stopping in for a cocktail in an incredible setting.

At the center of the square stands the Vendôme Column, erected by Napoleon in 1810. Made partially from the bronze of the cannons captured during the Battle of Austerlitz, this military monument is topped by a statue of the emperor himself, dressed like Julius Caesar.
