Eiffel Tower

The 7th Arrondissement
Home of the Eiffel Tower and Les Invalides, this neighborhood is on the itinerary of any first visit to Paris. But it should certainly stay on the agenda for repeat visitors as there’s an impressive list of first-class museums in the area (Musée d’Orsay, Musée Rodin, Musée du Quai Branly to name a few), an exceptional gastronomic offer, and some of the best shopping in the capital. It’s also home to most of the foreign embassies, government ministries, and state administration offices.

WHAT NOT TO MISS IN THIS PARIS NEIGHBORHOOD
  • Eiffel Tower seen from the Trocadéro.

Go up to the top of the Eiffel Tower – of course you can admire it from the ground, but it really is worth the view from above, at least once in your life

  • Woman picnicking on the grass of the Champ de Mars in front of the Eiffel Tower in Paris

The Ecole Militaire isn’t open to the public, however, a picnic or a walk in the Champ de Mars garden to get there is a Parisian classic

  • The Hôtel des Invalides

Les Invalides is another must-see, both for the Napoleon mausoleum with its golden dome and for its army museum

  • The Thinker by Rodin

Don’t miss the Rodin Museum just next to the Invalides, and be sure to pay a visit to the famous Thinker statue

Life in the Neighborhood

By Guillaume

When you live in Paris, you might not often head to the Eiffel Tower for a touristic walk. Believe it or not, a lot of Parisians have never gone up the tower to admire the view or to take a traditional selfie shot up there. But when you live in Paris, la Tour Eiffel is always with you, accompanying your every movement no matter your whereabouts, always peeking its head over the rooftops.
