This is no ordinary cream pastry with a dull sliver of icing. L’Éclair de Génie is the king of eclairs with its exciting play of ingredients and artistic design. The famous pastry shop has several boutiques in Paris (and beyond) and boasts over 200 different flavors of eclairs, all the creations of pastry chef Christophe Adam.

If you’re not sure where to start, a few of my favorites include the ‘caramel beurre salé’ with mascarpone cream filling, the ‘rose litchi’ with rose cream and lychee, and the citron yuzu meringue. The selection changes throughout the year according to which fruits are in season, so you can keep going back to find new flavors.

Unlike traditional pastry shops, the Éclair de Génie storefronts are upbeat and modern, their distinct bright yellow façades inviting you in to try a new Parisian gastronomic experience

Behind a clean industrial-style counter, rows of colorful eclairs dazzle the eye while a patient server (fluent in various languages) is there to make suggestions. Seating isn’t available at any of the boutiques, but you can enjoy your delicious eclair while strolling through the city.

If you need a quick pastry pick-me-up, head to one of Éclair de Génie’s three Paris locations:
