In a city as historic as Paris, newcomers might be surprised to find the forward-thinking contemporary design that lives and breathes in the city. You can find creativity everywhere — even when you’re just looking for drinks and a good time, exhibit A: Wanderlust.
Housed within the Cité de la Mode et du Design, the green goblin sticking out like a sore thumb on Quai d’Austerlitz is a nightclub on the river with the coolest-looking venue.
Designed by architects Jakob+Macfarlane, the unique club features a spacious open-air terrace where live DJ beats mix house, disco, and other genres of music on any given night. Once snaking through the tight security and queue, you’re actually passing exhibitions as the building is a multi-purposed complex with a fashion and design museum, a restaurant, and shops which is worth visiting during the day. However, at night, this is really the place to be — as promised by any fashionable Parisian in-the-know.
The rooftop offers panoramic views of the Seine at night while you sip on cocktails and enjoy a moment on the dance floor. This Paris nightclub also offers an interior dance floor where the music varies and offers a change of scenery as well as a respite from the chilly air if you’re visiting in the winter.
And while the dance floor is dotted with its share of visitors on some kind of mood-booster, the crowd overall is promising — worth a visit especially if you’re single and looking to mingle.
