Situated in the heart of Les Halles neighborhood, you couldn’t dream of a better place for exceptional meat. Le Louchébem’s classic style might make you think you’re entering a butcher shop when you first pass through the door, but ask the friendly and efficient staff for a table and you can sit and enjoy a great meal in a historic atmosphere — the rotisserie has been here since 1878!

At lunch time, come early and you should have no problem finding a table, either inside the establishment or en terrasse. Dinner is another story, however, and even after almost 150 years in business the restaurant fills up quickly, so best make reservations.

Once you do get a seat, you’ll quickly realize you’re in a carnivore’s Parisian paradise. This historic grill house serves up traditional French fare like escargots, foie gras, pigs’ feet, and homemade beef Bourguignon, as well as steaks, tartares, and roasted duck, chicken, lamb, or ham. The menu does also include several options for vegetarians, and they even offer an English menu so you’ll be sure to know exactly what you’re ordering!

At least one meal at this legendary Paris restaurant is an absolute must for meat lovers in France for the first time.
