Located in the hippest part of Le Marais, Le Mary Celeste is the spot to have drinks with friends.
It’s always crowded (no avoiding this, sorry!), and you may have to stand in line for a bit to get a seat at the bar or a table (this you can avoid by reserving in advance online or by phone), but it’s one of those places that has just amassed popularity without ever having a real reason for it.
Founded by the same people that created Candelaria and Glass, it was destined to be a success like its counterparts. Personally, at first I loved it because the cocktails were delicious, although my opinion may have been influenced by the attractiveness of the cute bartender. Right on Rue Commines, it’s easy to end up here for after-dinner drinks after dining nearby, but you can come here for dinner as well if you enjoy seafood, and great seafood at that.
This bar-restaurant typically hosts Paris fashion week parties and gallery opening events, and an always-stylish local crowd. I say wear your favorite dress, bring two friends, and load up on oysters and wine.
