CopperBay stands out from the rest of the Parisian cocktail scene, where hidden speakeasies and cramped, dimly-lit hideouts have become the norm. For starters, you won’t have any problem finding it. You just can’t miss the welcoming and reassuring light flowing through the large windows of the bar, glowing like a lighthouse beacon to guide passing ships and thirsty Parisians.

Settled in a small, quiet, and rather dark street just off the Grands Boulevards, CopperBay has a subtle but noticeable nautical theme. Inside, the bar is decorated with naval novelties, and the bright wood and copper trimmings vaguely remind you of a yacht deck.

The place is relatively spacious and practical, with plenty of places to put down your drink, whether on the ledges lining the walls, the built-in tables around the sides, or at the bar height tables in the center of the room. But there’s also a more playful side to this bar—head downstairs to enjoy your drinks with your feet in the sand.

Behind the long and beautiful bar, the CopperBay crew carefully prepare cocktails, distilling their mixology art and putting loving attention into the presentation as well. And the results are spectacular, both to the eye and the taste buds.

If you’re feeling adventurous, try one of their well-balanced mix creations: either the Sergent Pepper, Slipping on Banana, or the regional Breizh Punch. Or, if you’re a Gin & Tonic lover, go for one of their classic Magic Tonic interpretations using homemade gins. I definitely recommend trying their superb CopperBay Gin, concocted in Paris in collaboration with Nicolas Julhès’s Distillerie de Paris.

Aside from cocktails, you’ll also find locally brewed beers, ciders, and small plates of delicious snacks that are sure to help you get your sea legs. Welcome aboard CopperBay, sailor!
