Cryil Lignac continues to expand his Left Bank empire on Rue du Dragon with his newest cocktail bar, Dragon. Just a stone’s throw from Le Bar des Prés and Aux Prés, Dragon is the perfect spot to start or end your night.
The décor is ultra-sexy — think an onyx bar with touches of red and green, soft-lighting, red accents throughout, leopard print barstools, and even a fish tank in the back. The space itself is just as intimate and would be perfect for an impressive date night.
For smaller groups, there are red leather banquettes in each corner of the room. In any case, we recommend arriving early in order to get a seat, especially on the weekend.
On the menu you’ll find nine different cocktails with the ingredients and flavor profiles listed for each one. When we visited, we ordered off-the-menu cocktails which the bartenders were happy to make. The presentation was beautiful and the drinks were of course delicious.
Cocktails are served with tasty bar bites. For those who are a bit hungrier, there are several appetizer options in Cyril Lignac’s signature French-Asian fusion style.
In an ideal world, we’d have a pre-dinner drink at Dragon before heading across the street to one of Cyril Lignac’s other restaurants, returning again to Dragon afterwards for a nightcap. But even if you’re just stopping in for a drink, it’s worth a trip.
Dragon is a welcome addition to the growing Saint-Germain-des-Prés bar and craft cocktail scene and a great place to take a date, meet a friend, or try out on your own.
