Like its neighbor and rival Café de Flore, this legendary spot represents the height of Parisian café culture. Its large corner terrace is perfect for people-watching, giving you a view of both the bustling Boulevard Saint Germain and the Église Saint-Germain-des-Prés, one of the oldest churches in Paris.

With its iconic green and white awning, Les Deux Magots is renowned for being the literary café where great minds like Jean-Paul Sartre, Simone de Beauvoir, and Albert Camus once gathered. It was also a favorite of American expatriates like Julia Child and James Baldwin. The restaurant maintains its literary legacy today with the Deux Magots literary prize, awarded to a new French work annually since 1933.

In addition to offering a glimpse into the Paris of times gone by (through its history and its décor), this classic café also serves up traditional French brasserie cuisine. The prices are in line with the legendary status of the place, so might I recommend going just to sip a coffee, enjoy a good glass of wine, or to indulge in a cup of their delicious hot chocolate.

Looking for a unique way to remember your time en terrasse at this classic Parisian café? This Les Deux Magots print makes the perfect souvenir.
