Le Bar Dix is one of those wine bars that is so steeped in history and lacking in frills that it feels too good to be true. The menu is simple: you can order pitchers of sangria in several different sizes and a simple charcuterie plate if you like (which consists of several slices of supermarket bread accompanied by cheddar cheese and cold cuts).
The sangria is delicious and strong, made with oranges, apples, and cinnamon, and there are two seating areas: one at street level and one in the basement. With low lighting, wood accents, and high ceilings, it almost feels like something out of the Belle Epoque.
There’s also a digital jukebox, so if you play your cards right, you could end up DJing for the entire bar. It’s the perfect place to start (or end) a night with good friends.
If sangria isn’t your thing, try one of these other top wine bars in Paris.
