Tucked into a corner building on a quiet street, Cravan is the perfect spot to grab a simple yet elegant cocktail and a snack. My fiancé and I like to go there for date night; after we finish our drinks, we’ll stroll through the neighborhood and catch some romantic views of the Eiffel Tower.

Though the interior is beautiful — with mirrored walls and a gorgeous wood-paneled bar — it’s tiny and getting a table can be competitive. During the warmer months, there’s a lot more seating on the terrace, and I’ll take the fresh air every time.

Cravan isn’t a café where you can turn apéritif into dinner since the menu is limited to small plates, but it’s a great place to start or end your evening in a peaceful environment. The food menu is thoughtful and original, geared more toward a sophisticated palate. And the drinks are perfectly balanced and refreshing, just what I want from a craft cocktail. Every drink on the menu looked like something I’d like to try, so I’ll have to go back a few more times!

If you’re in the 16th Arrondissement early in the day, Cravan also serves great coffee and light breakfast. An hour (or more) on the terrace with coffee and a book is, in my opinion, the perfect way to start a Parisian day.
