Will Les Bleues be able to defeat defending champions Team USA? Or will one of the outsiders like China, Brazil, or The Netherlands surprise us all by winning the cup? We’ll find out soon as the tournament kicks off this Friday, June 7 at 9 pm, continuing all month until the champion is crowned in Lyon on July 7.
The 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup is just the 8th edition of the international women’s soccer tournament, the event being held once every four years. France hosts the tournament for its first time this year with games taking place in nine different cities across the country. The United States enters the competition as defending champions and is among the favorites to win in 2019 as are the teams from France, England, Japan, and Germany.
But where to go to watch the games in Paris?
Head to the Stadium
Paris’s Parc des Princes stadium will host 7 different games during the 2019 Women’s World Cup, and where better to watch a soccer game than from the stands? The tournament’s opening match between France and South Korea on June 7th is already sold out, but tickets remain for the matchups on June 10th, 13th, 16th, 19th, 24th, and 28th. See the Women’s World Cup Official Website to reserve your seats!

Live the FIFA Fan Experience
Throughout the competition, sports fans from around the world can gather to cheer on their favorite soccer teams in the FIFA Fan Experience Village at Les Halles. Set up in the Nelson Mandela garden at the Forum des Halles in Paris’s 1st Arrondissement, the fan zone is open from 2-11:30pm on game days, with two giant screens to broadcast all the matches. The expansive open-air space can accommodate up to 10,000 people, so you shouldn’t have a problem finding a spot!
The ‘Village’ will also offer tons of fun activities for football fans young and old with a place to play foosball or even play in your own playground soccer tournament. Under the Canopée des Halles (the wavy glass and metal roof of the Les Halles shopping center), there will even be a miniature soccer field for games of 5-on-5 between 2 and 8 pm. Open to everyone, these festivities aim to promote women’s soccer and provide an animated atmosphere for meeting fellow fans and watching the World Cup.

Watch With a Drink in Hand
If you’d rather watch the games while having a good beer, bars around Paris will also be showing the matches. The Point Ephémère on the Canal Saint-Martin and the Café de la Presse near Bastille (France’s games only) both offer giant screens and a cool atmosphere, but for more of a sports bar vibe, we recommend going to one of the many Café Oz bars in Paris. These Australian bars broadcast the soccer games on big screens (and the French Open tennis matches too!), offer a wide range of good beers, and… they speak English!
