Armistice or Remembrance Day Military Parade | November 11, 2023

On November 11th, the city of Paris honors France’s fallen soldiers with an Armistice Day Military Parade on the Champs Elysées. The solemn, prideful procession makes its way down the iconic avenue, ending with a special ceremony at the Arc de Triomphe.

Each year, the current President of France gives a speech and lays a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier to pay homage to the heroes of World War I and following wars.

Good to know: since this day of remembrance is a public holiday in France, many businesses in the country close on November 11.
