We’ve made it through the first heatwave of the summer and July is looking good here in the city. As always, there are tons of interesting events and activities taking place this month in Paris, but here are the highlights.
July 3-7, the Champs de Mars becomes a horse lover’s heaven. Held at the foot of the Eiffel Tower, the 5-day event includes a horse jumping competition and other equestrian activities as well as an ephemeral restaurant. The temporary Paris Eiffel Jumping village is open from 10:00 – 18:00 and offers plenty of fun horse-centered activities for children and adults alike. From the end of June to the end of July, La Fabrique in Le Marais hosts weekly Apéros Créateurs with beer, bubbles, and local designers. La Fabrique – Summer Edition lets you mingle with the young creators and shop their latest fashions, all with a drink in hand. The pop-up shop, backed by La Fine Équipe, welcomes 65 new brands this summer and a fun, festive atmosphere is guaranteed. If you love classic cars, be sure to be in Paris on Sunday, July 21 to watch the parade of vintage vehicles passing through the city streets. Organized by the auto club Vincennes en Anciennes, the procession of more than 600 antique automobiles makes its way from the National Conservatory of Antique Vehicles in Antony, through Paris, and ending at the Terrasse de l’Observatoire in Meudon. The outdoor music festival fun continues in Paris this month, with the free Fnac Live at the Hôtel de Ville July 3-5, the Paris Jazz Festival in the Parc Floral July 6-26, Lollapalooza Paris July 20-21, and plenty more. This weekend is a particularly good time to be in Paris. Saturday and Sunday, September 21 - 22, 2019, mark the 36th edition of the Journées du patrimoine, also called the European Heritage Days.
If you’ll be in Paris this Friday, September 13th, large strikes will be affecting most public transportation. Transport unions have called for a grève in protest against pension reforms and the RATP (the Parisian transport operator) foresees 'heavily disrupted' traffic conditions.
