Nuit Blanche | June 3, 2023

Literally translating to “White Night,” Nuit Blanche also means “an all-nighter,” and that’s just what this party is.

Every year since 2002, this all-night-long contemporary art celebration lights up Paris on the first Saturday in October. The 2023 edition is the first to take place in June.

Think parades and performances along with bright lights and big crowds. The metro runs all night to let you explore the art installations and exhibitions around the city until the wee hours of the morning. Parisians look forward to it every year, and over the past 20 years, the hugely successful event has expanded to several other European capitals and North American cities too.

Fête de la Musique | June 21, 2023

Every year on June 21, all of France celebrates La Fête de la Musique, also known as World Music Day. Paris does it up big and music fills the streets and parks of the capital city, with DJ’s blasting beats from bar terraces, amateur musicians giving concerts on every corner, and stages where professional performers play (for free) all around town. If you’re lucky enough to be in Paris at this time, you’ll witness locals really letting their hair down — smiling, laughing, and dancing in the streets.

Events take place in every Arrondissement, generally starting in the early evening. Many metro and bus lines run all night long, and a special 3.50€ pass good for unlimited public transportation from 5am – 7am lets you take full advantage of the festival while exploring other parts of the Paris region!
