Since the cult concept store Colette closed in 2017, the hip Parisian crowd has been desperate to find a new pilgrimage place for women’s fashion. Frankie could definitely become the next go-to place to discover new trends and shop up-and-coming designers in the coming years.

For now, the store is still a fairly well-kept secret. It’s a 400-square-foot Aladdin’s cave, with racks overflowing with minimalist yet edgy items.

The Frankie Girl is a city girl who needs a sleek and comfortable outfit to ride her bike to work. She’s not necessarily girly or overtly sexy but is certainly elegant and self-confident. In the shop, you can find boyish blazers and oversized shirts to twist up and pair with a piece of statement jewelry or even a lavender vinyl trench coat.

The boutique proposes pieces by emerging brands from all over the world, including as Ganni (Denmark), Rachel Comey (USA) or Nanushka (Hungary). Affordable but expensive-looking, Frankie’s fashions balance the Parisian approach to effortless chic with the edgier taste of New York.

Frankie’s founder, Gaëlle Drevet, is a French journalist and TV producer who moved to New York to throw herself into the fashion business. She opened the first brick-and-mortar Frankie Shop in 2014 on the Lower East Side before launching her now flourishing online shop in 2016. Frankie’s quickly became an Instagram sensation, and Drevet returned to Paris in 2017, opening her first store in the City of Light in the very chic Marais neighborhood.

With an invitation to open a pop-up store in the Galeries Lafayette just one year later and certainly more exciting collaborations to come, we’re sure this is only the beginning of the French Frankie Shop empire!
