Not your typical concept store, Merci is its own little world of artworks, clothing, and home décor, as well as three restaurants within.

Most visitors simply stop to gawk at the cute red car at the entrance, but after you take your photo, make sure to explore the walls. Merci offers three levels of merchandise with clothing on the rez-de-chaussée (ground floor), bath and papeterie on the premier étage (first floor), and kitchen products in the sous-sol (basement). Downstairs, the restaurant La Cantine de Merci opens onto a small garden and incorporates an organic lunch menu with fresh produce that’s both healthy and tasty.

The Cinéma café just to the left of the store’s entrance serves delicious tartines, salads, soups, detox juices, and charcuterie. But my favorite of the three Merci restaurants is the one on the right side of the entrance, Merci Used Books Café. The café has an entire shelf filled with books that you can read, a cozy atmosphere, and the best oeufs à la coque I’ve ever had!
