If not the best rooftop terrace in Paris, Le Perchoir Marais definitely competes in the top 3 in the city. Ideally located, this great rooftop bar and restaurant, open from June to October, is perched atop the BHV Marais, just across from the Hôtel de Ville, offering a spectacular view over the city roofs.

A trendy but laid-back spot, Le Perchoir gets busy quickly on a nice night, so arrive early to be first in the line. The entrance, situated in a back street behind the BHV, opens at 8:15pm – if you arrive much later you risk finding the place full.

The elevator takes you to a long terrace covering the length of the BHV roof. At first sight, the décor makes you feel like you’ve been teleported to a surf club or seaside ‘chiringuito’ with its low wooden tables and stools, shade sail canopy, and strands of twinkling lights. The backdrop is markedly different, however, replacing the sandy beaches with a terrific view of Paris rooftops and the Eiffel Tower in the distance. The atmosphere is relaxed and lively, and the music of the live DJ sets can be a tad too loud for a romantic conversation, but great to get in a dancing mood.

Cocktails in this exceptional atmosphere are generally about 12€, and with nearly 30 different options on the drink menu, you’re sure to find the perfect one to sip on under the Paris sky. They also offer beer, wine, and plenty of non-alcoholic options, and you can also order snacks to munch on as you sit on the comfy cushions around one of the large tables, all overlooking the Paris skyline.
