Booths decorated with cowhides, wood-paneled walls, lantern lighting, and a great big polar bear statue; you can’t get more North Pole than this in Paris. Il Cottage delivers on delicious raclette and an eclectic atmosphere you can enjoy with friends. The restaurant makes for a hip hangout in summer or winter with its charming patio and rustic décor. Random decorations add a little funk, and you’ll be greeted by a giant teddy bear wearing skis and live chickens that walk about on the terrace. This is what we call a true bonne adresse.
You don’t have to trek too far to get there either. Just jump on the RER C and descend at Gare Avenue Foch, or hop off at Porte Dauphine if you’re on the Metro Line 2; they’re both just a few steps away from the Parisian restaurant. Once there, take in the atmosphere and sit down for a savory experience of mountain specialties. Order the raclette with charcuteries, potatoes, salad, and pickles, and pair it with your favorite red or white wine.
The great part about Il Cottage is that they also serve Italian food, so if you have a friend who’s craving a pizza rather than raclette (it happens), they can either order it at the restaurant or go onto the terrace to get it from the food truck. Il Cottage has it all!
And while it’s a wonderful spot for warm winter meals, Il Cottage is also the perfect place to enjoy an apéro en terrasse in the summertime. When the weather’s nice, the giant patio becomes a laid-back lounge bar, complete with wooden deck chairs so you can soak up the sun and get that beach feeling right in Paris.
