Docked on the quays just in front of the Bibliothèque nationale de France (BNF for short), the Dame de Canton is a floating restaurant, bar, club, and concert venue. Climb aboard and you’re sure to spend a great evening on the Seine.
While I don’t know that I’d go for the food, – I haven’t dined here, but the menu seems a little pricey – the setting, drinks, and concerts are definitely worth a trip. Check their site or Facebook before you go to see what’s on the agenda and whether a given concert is free. If tickets are required, they generally cost €7 – €15 depending on the event, and although you can pay at the door, you can usually save a few euros by purchasing online in advance.
Once you arrive and first step onto the ship, you’ll be surprised by just how big it is inside. The rustic wooden decor warmly welcomes you and puts you at ease, as does the gentle rocking of the boat. If you’re early enough, grab a seat near the stage to get a good view of the concert. Don’t worry if there’s no more seating, stand near the back of the main level with your drink in hand, or head up the few steps to the bar, where you can see and hear the concert too. And in the summer, a terrace pops up on the quay just in front of the ship, with a buzzy beer garden atmosphere.
