Le Meurice

Many are styled in the elegant French Regency fashion, reminiscent of the Palace of Versailles with regal furnishings and richly embossed fabrics. Grand fireplaces grace numerous rooms while the bathrooms are a blend of sleek modernity and indulgence; exuding romance, after all, this is Paris. Peace and tranquillity can be found at La Maison Valmont pour Le Meurice, the hotel’s luxury spa. 

When my husband and I arrived, we were greeted with a chilled bottle of champagne and a delightful cake crafted by the esteemed pastry chef, Cédric Grolet, who operates a patisserie at the hotel. I could tell we were in for a special weekend from the very start.

After a busy afternoon exploring the sights of the 1st Arrondissement and enjoying lunch at Café Le Nemours, we returned to the hotel to get ready for the evening. Pampering reached new heights in the sumptuous all-marble bathroom complete with indulgent Maison Francis Kurkdjian bath products; it was every girl’s dream. 

I couldn’t wait to visit the hotel’s bar, reminiscent of a traditional Gentleman’s Club, Bar 228 is renowned for its inventive cocktails and live piano playing mellow jazz that adds to the intimate atmosphere.

The deep leather armchairs and sultry lighting set the perfect tone for the romantic evening ahead, which included celebrating my birthday in style at Restaurant Coco next to the Palais Garnier. 

Can there be anything better than a hotel breakfast where every culinary craving is satisfied? At Restaurant Le Dali, breakfast is served to perfection, catering to every taste. Can there be anything more special than French pastries? We treated ourselves to buttery croissants and flaky pain au chocolat, but you can also choose from a variety of cooked and healthy options.

Among the healthy choices was a personal favorite, chia seed pudding made with coconut milk, topped with fresh fruit and nuts, providing a nutritious and satisfying alternative.

Le Meurice is a stunningly romantic hotel perfectly located just a short walk from the luxury boutiques of Place Vendôme, while the Champs-Elysées, Arc de Triomphe, and Palais Garnier are less than ten minutes away.

The moment we walked into Le Meurice, my husband and I were greeted with the warm, friendly French hospitality we’ve come to adore, and we instantly felt at home. Our stay was magical and so memorable; this is what the Dorchester Group calls DC Moments — special moments at this amazing hotel that I’ll always remember and keep close to my heart until my next visit.
