Hôtel des Arts Montmartre

Set right off Rue Lepic, one of the liveliest streets in Montmartre, the four-star Hôtel des Arts is an ideal home-away-from-home for anyone who really wants to spend quality time exploring this famous Paris neighborhood.

A hop, skip, and a jump from the Abbesses metro station (or about a 5-minute walk), this Montmartre hotel offers peace and quiet, a fully equipped fitness room, private hammam, and lovely, spacious rooms.

As soon as you walk in, you’re greeted by pretty local artwork, gorgeous fresh flowers, and an incredibly friendly staff that’s fluent in English, Spanish, and of course, French.

Just off the lobby, you’ll find a well-stocked, self-service bar that also serves as the breakfast room and a great spot for getting a bit of work done on your laptop.

To recuperate after a long flight from the United States, I reserved a Chambre Double Supérieure Cour with small private courtyard (from 220€ a night) for a few nights. The room was quite simply perfect, with everything I needed to rest up, relax, and take a couple of days to ease back into my French life.

Decorated with quality fabrics and furnishings, my hotel room had all the amenities and then some: electric kettle, tea, coffee, TV, a Marshall Bluetooth speaker, rainfall showerhead, hairdryer, and more.

The bed and pillows were incredibly comfy, and since I was staying on the courtyard side, the room was quiet as could be.

And there were tons of special touches too, including a small welcome tray of macarons, Occitanie toiletries to take with me, and a complimentary coupe de champagne at the hotel bar.

While all that would be more than enough to make for an excellent stay, they weren’t the only reasons I was so glad I’d chosen this particular boutique hotel in Paris.

Its location truly couldn’t be better.

For starters, there’s a charming old movie theater called Studio 28 literally right across the street from the Hôtel des Arts Montmartre. Even if you don’t go see a film, do at least pop in to grab a drink at their garden bar.

Along the neighboring Rue Lepic, there are tons of cute and quirky shops as well as many great Montmartre restaurants and cafés. And once you’re on this road, you’re only a few minutes away from the more touristy parts of the district too, including Montmartre’s famous church Sacré Coeur, the Place du Tertre, and the photogenic Maison Rose.

After a long afternoon and evening exploring the 18th Arrondissement, it was wonderful to make a short walk back to the hotel, enjoy a nightcap at the hotel bar and chat with fellow travelers, and then head to my room and settle into my comfortable, big bed to get a good night’s sleep.

Whether for a romantic weekend in Montmartre or a slow solo trip to get better acquainted with the area, I highly recommend booking a stay at the Hôtel des Arts Montmartre.

I know next time I go, I’ll be bringing my husband so we can both soak up all the best bits of life in Montmartre.
