Hôtel Caron de Beaumarchais

Wandering through the enchanting streets of Le Marais, you’ll inevitably find yourself drawn to the Hotel Caron de Beaumarchais. Its vivid blue façade catches your eye from a distance standing out like a jewel on the horizon. 

There’s something irresistibly magnetic about this Marais hotel, pulling you closer with each step until you’re standing in awe of what is arguably the prettiest boutique hotel in the entire neighborhood. Its old-world charm feels more like a portal to another era, transporting you back in time to a scene straight out of Marie Antoinette’s Paris. 

I was so excited to stay at the Caron de Beaumarchais since I’d heard so much about the hotel. And I finally got to on a warm golden weekend in late August when Paris feels calm and unhurried with many Parisians away for the month, and the city is yours to savor and explore at your leisure. 

Stepping inside, we were immediately captivated by the hotel’s intimate charm and timeless elegance. The lobby felt like a room straight out of the Netflix show Bridgerton — period pieces are everywhere! Beautiful paintings adorn the richly patterned floral walls while antique furnishings and ornate chandeliers shimmer in the warm glow of light.

A harpsichord and piano grace opposite corners of the lobby, while delicate trinkets are thoughtfully arranged throughout. The atmosphere is one of quiet sophistication, where every detail whispers of a bygone era. It felt less like a hotel and more like the pages of history, where every accent invites you to linger a little longer.

This enchanting scene continues throughout the hotel and bedrooms where the same attention to detail and historic elegance creates an atmosphere of romance and tranquillity. Each room feels like a private retreat with vintage furnishings, floral-patterned fabrics, and gilded mirrors while windows open to views of the Marais neighborhood of Paris while still maintaining an air of quiet seclusion.

The spirit of 18th century Paris has been lovingly preserved offering a perfect blend of comfort and nostalgia.

The hotel’s 19 rooms vary in size, some overlook the streets of Le Marais, and some are inner courtyard rooms. Double glazing and soundproofing ensure rooms are a sanctuary for guests to enjoy a totally blissful break away from the hustle and bustle.

For a three-star hotel, it’s well equipped with everything you will ever need for a truly comfortable stay and that includes air conditioning, an elevator, luxurious Annick Goutal products such as bath salts from Sicily (on request), flatscreen TV, mini bar, USB sockets which are essential for today’s discerning traveler. 

My husband and I booked a romantic room with views of rue Vieille du Temple and beyond. We were surprised with a bottle of chilled pink champagne which was very gratefully received even though we weren’t celebrating anything, however, being in Paris is a celebration in itself.

Continental breakfast can be served in your room or the small breakfast room. We decided to enjoy breakfast en terrasse given that the weather was gloriously hot the weekend we were in Paris. 

The Hôtel Caron de Beaumarchais not only lived up to its glowing reviews but also exceeded all our expectations, offering warm Parisian hospitality and a charming ambiance. As one of the top boutique hotels in Paris, it’s somewhere we would definitely return to again.
