I know what you’re thinking, is there vegan food in France? Ce n’est pas possible ! French food is not well-known for being vegan friendly, particularly when popular dishes include steak frites and confit de canard, and cheese on everything!
While I can’t vouch for all corners of l’Hexagone, I can tell you that the vegan food scene in Paris is evolving, and more places are catering to plant-based eating. Fast food, burgers, sweet treats… a variety of cuisines are becoming more accessible for vegans in Paris.
That being said, it has taken some time to find good vegan-friendly restaurants in Paris. I often turn to Instagram to discover vegan spots using the hashtag #veganparis. Additionally, the Happy Cow website and app are useful for honest reviews of Paris food establishments by vegan food lovers.
Of course, you can often find vegan options in Asian, Indian, or Middle Eastern restaurants or even pizza places.
Read on to discover the best vegan restaurants and food spots in Paris.

2. Tien Hiang
Tien Hiang is a family-run Asian fusion vegetarian restaurant, close to the Canal Saint Martin in the 10th Arrondissement of Paris. Just so you know, if you order Tien Hiang for delivery, there’s no compromise in quality.

3. Land & Monkeys
Set up by the owners of established Parisian boulangerie chain Maison Landemaine, Land and Monkeys was the first vegan bakery in Paris. They opened in February 2020, just before France went into lockdown, but that hasn’t slowed their growth. They now have five shops in Paris, filling a gap in the market for dairy-free, cruelty-free baked goods.
Get your fix of croissants and patisseries, bread, sandwiches, quiches, and classic French desserts.
Order: The monkey cookie, the branche aux tomates, the sandwich méditerranée

4. Soya Cantine
A few streets from the hustle and bustle of Place de la République, is Soya Cantine, a former faucet factory turned organic restaurant. Even though the building is very industrial, the atmosphere is cozy, with soft lighting making it an ideal location for a fancy vegan dinner in Paris. Soya Cantine prioritizes using seasonal fruits and vegetables in their dishes, giving a lot of color and variety to each plate.
Order: The Mezze plate

5. Furahaa burger
This is a particularly unique vegan restaurant; as well as being Black-owned, its staff are deaf or hard-of-hearing, providing a great opportunity for them to work.
Furahaa is the answer for vegan fast food in Paris; a healthier, tastier, and socially conscious alternative to the chain with the golden arches. The burgers are both flavorful and filling. You really get good value for money here.
Order: The Big Furahaa burger
Furahaa currently has one location in Paris, but a second is coming soon:
78 Rue Réaumur, 75002 Paris
They also have a Strasbourg location if you by any chance take the train there from Paris: Gare SNCF, 20 Place de la Gare, Hall 1, 67000 Strasbourg
